Q: How much does a video cost?
Like cars, houses, even a dinner out, the prices of videos vary. And like your dinner, video is priced in part based on its ingredients. What kind of shooting is needed? How much time, equipment and crew are required? How much time in the edit suite? Are there graphics? And who is the chef … er, director?
To make things easier for people looking for website videos, Proffer Productions offers packages called WebCuts. The basic rate is $1,500, which includes up to 90 seconds of a single video or multiple vignettes, professionally lit, miked and shot in our studio and delivered to you in the digital format you need. For an additional $1,000, we’ll film the video at your business or an approved location in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Scriptwriting, inserting photos, creating graphics and animation are charged at an hourly rate. And most important, by planning up front, there are no hidden fees. What we estimate is what you get.
Q: How long does it take to make a video?
Basic video projects, such as a WebCut, can generally be filmed, edited and delivered within a couple of weeks, once a plan and price are agreed to. If we write your script, add another week or so for copy and approval. Your schedule may vary depending on how much customization and editing your project needs, but this will all be discussed before a project begins. If you have a specific deadline, let us know, and we will make every effort to meet it.
Q: What do I need to know to get started?
Nothing … about video, that is. You should have an idea of what you want your video to do for your business or organization, but we will guide you through the production process. Proffer Productions provides all production services in-house, and we handle many of our projects on a turnkey basis – from creative concept through completion and delivery. You don’t have to have an idea. You don’t have to be a writer. And we have our own modification of “there’s no such thing as a stupid question.” One of our mottos is: It’s stupid not to ask questions. Another motto: Is it Happy Hour yet?
Q: How do I get my video on my website?
We will work with your website designer or you to help you put your video online or deliver it however you’d like. You don’t need to be an expert on this – that’s our job.

We are happy to work from scripts that our clients provide, and we welcome ideas and input of all kinds. We work with ad agencies and organizations that may need videography or editing only – we’re comfortable partnering in whatever way we can.
